Archie said: “We are delighted to welcome visitors to our former home in Balivanich. We hope visitors find it a comfortable home-from-home and a perfect base for exploring of our beautiful islands.

“Heb.Holiday is a family business. It is managed by my sisters, Irene and Chrissie, who will provide you with a warm Hebridean welcome. They will assist you any way they can to ensure your stay is as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.

“As we say in our native Gaidhlig language: Failte gu Beinn a Bhaoghla agus na h-Eileanan an Iar – welcome to Benbecula and the Outer Hebrides.”

On the edge of the Atlantic

When you walk the stunning beaches carved along the western coastline of the Outer Hebrides and look to the horizon, you will be standing at the westernmost edge of Europe. The next landfall will be 3,000 miles away, across the Atlantic Ocean, in North America. On a warm summer’s evening, there can be no more glorious sight than the sun setting into this vast ocean seascape. The Outer Hebrides truly do stand on the edge of the Atlantic.
